Something Important to Teach Your Kids

We parents need to look out for each other. I'll share some of the parenting wisdom that I have gained, and I hope others will return the favor. My son is a smart boy. He is. Sometimes I forget that he there are some gaps in his basic knowledge. Sometimes he's a pretty silly 11-year-old boy who leaves me shaking my head. Recent example? "The Glove Box Incident"

I asked Brishen to get me something out of the glove box. He promptly went into the closet, got out the box where we keep the gloves, and tried to find the requested item without much luck. The poor child had never heard of a glove box. I hang my parent-head in shame for neglecting that part of his education. Please don't do the same to your child. Let them know that the glove box isn't the box that holds gloves.
