But Camden wasn't there. It was my day off, if you will. I was ready to put the stroller away and enjoy the air conditioning when Basia came to me with a chimp in her arms. It seems the chimp wanted to go "U-O-T" (yes, she's dyslexic).
I'm a sucker for a little girl trying to spell a secret message and a sucker for cuteness, so I decided to brave the heat for a block or two while she pushed her chimp in the stroller in the heat of the day on my day off. She was just disappointed that the cars driving by us did not seem to notice her chimp.
While we are on the subject of this chimp, I'll let you know that he also sleeps in a playpen, has to be watched at all times because "you know how chimps are," and has even had a special "chimp service" performed for him in our sanctuary. I find that I am often in trouble for leaving the room when I am supposed to be watching him. I also find that chimp services give me a headache.
