Moving Like Okies

I have not yet posted about our actual move or the going-away celebration at Morning Star.  I'll admit that it is hard for me to talk or think too much about them because of the amazing love we felt.  We received so much help from our Morning Star friends with our move, and we are very grateful.  Above is a picture of Basia and her dear, dear friend Courtney, who helped us with our move.
Pastors work very hard, often for not much pay, but they are also spoiled in ways that others certainly are not.  We were very spoiled with our move.  We didn't have to rent a moving truck because others brought their trucks to help, including a truck from a local copier supply business.  We also had many friend and family helpers to carry all those boxes and furniture.  There was even a lady from church who came and told me that she was there for ME, to clean and sweep and do any little thing I wanted her to do.  Wow!
They definitely pack the main truck full!

Here's the "Moving Like Okies" part:  my dad made the comment that he didn't know we were Okies.  That made me look around and realize what our stuff looked like.  We could have rented one huge moving truck to hide all our belongings, but we happily accepted the offers for trucks and trailers instead.  In the end, we filled the main truck, the trailer pictured above, the truck beds of four trucks, and the inside of various vehicles.  It was a little embarrassing to see all those trucks lined up in our old neighborhood, and it was really embarrassing to see them all lined up in our new neighborhood that consists of exactly six houses.
Thinking back, though, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
