Yes, an actual deer in an actual headlight. We were driving home last night from T or C at interstate speeds when the car in front of us swerved and a deer was right there, impossible to miss. Jon swerved, so we were lucky to not hit it head-on. Looking at it again this morning, we do realize how lucky we were. There are so many ways this could have turned out so much worse. The car still runs, which is all we need from it at this time. We won't be driving it at night. Even the radio is messed up, which is funny.

This hole is the really scary thing (and why we heard so much air blowing as we drove home). If it were a little bit higher...
Basia wasn't looking out the front window at the time it happened, so she doesn't have that image etched in her brain, which is a very good thing. As far as she knows, the deer walked away. This picture shows some of the hair he left behind. There was even some hair on my (the passenger-side) window.

Oh my, glad you guys are ok. coming from living in NY, Virginia and Maryland we saw our share of deer damaged cars and car damaged deer, scary stuff. It's amazing how they do come out of no where and just how much damage they can do.
