Our guys went to a great concert, so the girls decided to have some fun of our own.
There was no question in Basia's mind that foot baths and painted toenails would be an important component of Girls' Night In. I did not get a picture of my finished toenails, but if you happen to see me sometime soon and notice that there is almost as much polish on my toes as on my nails, please blame the child with less-than-perfect fine motor skills. There was no question in my mind that Girls' Night In would have to include some snacks and a movie. Basia wanted popcorn, and I had to have something with some sweetness for sure. She had fun trying to catch the popcorn in her mouth. We will see if I live to regret our movie choice. I actually put in a PG-13 movie, even though I am usually very picky about what my kids watch. We watched the roller derby movie, Whip It, because I thought it would be right up Basia's alley. I really had no problem with her seeing the movie. There was really not much violence, and it was all related to the sport. There was no sex, or if there was, we didn't see it because we skipped over one part that seemed like it might be heading in that direction. There was, however, some language, that I really hope not to hear coming out of my little girl's mouth in the future. She did ask me what "ape sh*t" means at one point in the movie--yikes! So, I do not recommend it for your little ones, but I think it was a fun choice for our big Girls' Night In.
