In My Defense...

she won't be studying U.S. History for a couple years, as we are still studying Ancient History.  That is the only reason I am willing to post the following quote from Basia, as it is the exact sort of thing opponents of homeschooling like to see.  Brishen and I were playing the board game "Made for Trade," which is set in colonial times.  Basia saw one of the figures and said,

"Oh, a pelican!  I remember about those."

I looked closely all around the board for a pelican.  I was confused.  I clarified that she said "pelican" and she said that she did.

She finally pointed out this "pelican" for me.

It was a pilgrim

She does have a great knowledge of Greek gods, though.  Does that make it better?  A little, at least?
