Random Facts About Basia:
She started Girl Scouts on Monday. I never knew she was interested, but the girl is so proud and excited. She made sure to remind me last week to ask the leader mom about "brownies and cookies," so now she is a brownie (we are calling her a 2nd grader for this purpose only a couple months early) who will one day sell cookies (our troup started after the big selling season, so we're free from that for this year).
She has her first real best friend her age in our homeschool group. She often does best playing with older girls, boys around her age, or taking care of little ones. This is the first time she has a really good friend her age, and I think it is a good thing for her. Basia and Bella search each other out at every function and are dissapointed any time the other isn't there.
We are in the process of removing all toys from Basia's room and storing them in our ex-linen closet. The hope is that there will be less chaos in her room if she doesn't have anything to play with in there. She is supposed to only get one bin out of the closet at a time and return it before she gets any other bin. She was actually very happy to have her things moved. She gets overwhelmed by her own messes and is more than happy for a hope for a solution. We shall see. Her school desk is next to go.
Basia got four stripes on her purple Tae Kwon Do belt last night, meaning that she is very likely to test for her blue belt in early April. She came home very, very proud.
She is now really addicted to all things Roman. We watched a documentary on the Colusseum and gladiators, and she was instantly hooked. She watches it again any chance she gets. She wants us to call her "History Basia." She and Brishen run through the house playing gladiator all day long. It can get a little loud and crazy to say the least.
She is going through a pretty relaxed time, not getting too emotional or worked up about things. She wakes up early and happy each morning. She gets her school done by noon and loves to play in the cul-de-sac in the afternoon, riding her various things with wheels. Spring is her season, for sure!
