Exciting Day

I ordered the following things today:

a 7th grade conservation science program
a 7th grade logic program
the teacher's guide to go with a 7th grade math program (ok, not really for most 7th graders, but...)
a 7th grade Greek program (it's actually the same one Jon used in seminary, but it's 7th grade for us)
a 7th grade history/theology/literature course called Omnibus 1
I also registered Brishen for his first ever online class.  He will be taking Latin online starting in September.  It's exciting because he will be able to advance in Latin so far beyond where I could ever take him.

Can you tell that this is the last month of Brishen's 6th grade year?  Preparations are in full swing for him to start 7th grade in April.  I really cannot believe we only have two years left before I have to be super-vigilant with courses and transcripts and grades and all that high school craziness.

I feel that I need to start really firmly deciding on our high school plans in the next few months so that I can make sure he is fully prepared.  Many great online classes have prerequisites, so I need to decide now what I want him to do then.  That is the main reason I signed him up for Latin now.  If I want him to be able to take the course where he reads The Aeneid in Latin when he is a Sophomore, now is the time to start the first level of their courses.
Well it may not sound like an exciting day to you, but I can assure you that, as a homeschooler, any day when you get to order new curriculum is exciting.   You can also bet that I will be anxiously awaiting the mail carrier each day until it all arrives!
