In this house, we have no cable, and we are all pretty far removed from the news and sensations of the day. I have heard a bit about The Wedding from facebook posts and blog posts. I haven't seen or read any reports about it first hand, though, and I have yet to search for pictures of the dress or anything else. My husband, however, has remarked that they sang a Charles Wesley hymn. That's my Jon.
My kids had never heard a word about it until this morning. Leave it to my husband to check his news feed and remark, jokingly, that "we missed the royal wedding." Basia thought that meant that we had actually been invited and missed it. She asked where it took place. When she found out it was in England, she was quite relieved that we didn't go.
"Isn't England the place where there are little crabs all over the road?"
So, those of you who have seen one too many news reports on The Wedding, does the above picture look familiar? Poor bride! I showed Basia the picture and asked her if that is what she thinks about England, and she emphatically and disgustedly said, "Yes!" She does not like that country. Is it wrong to let her keep this misconception so that I can have a laugh?
