Do we really need a reason to make (and eat) cookies?? Basia finished her math book on Friday, and she really felt it was cause for major celebration. She is still early in her homeschool journey, so she doesn't yet realize that finishing a math book only means that you move on to another one. If we celebrated each time we finished a book, we'd be eating a lot of cookies (which isn't all bad, I guess). She just felt really proud of herself and her math skills, and I felt it was good to encourage that. So---we had cookies. Now Brishen wonders why I haven't made him cookies each time he finished a math book. Sheesh! Maybe I will give him a word problem that makes him figure out how many cookies we each would have eaten if I baked a batch each time he finished a math book over the last 6 plus years. He has completed a TON of math books, and I might weigh a TON if I had baked for him each time.
