...when you are in the midst of an adoption process:
"No, it certainly is not normal for you not to receive your fingerprinting appointment at the same time your husband received his."
Followed by:
"Hmm, sorry, it looks like they did not schedule a fingerprinting appointment for you."
And there's more:
"It looks like I cannot schedule an appointment for you because all the appointments are taken."
She didn't say that all the appointments on that same day are taken, or all the appointments next month are taken. Nope, she said that she CANNOT schedule me an appointment because they are ALL taken. Period. She did assure me that she will leave herself a note and check again tomorrow and that they will eventually be able to schedule something for me. Gee, thanks! I also don't like to hear the phrase, "worst-case scenario" applied to something that could have been fairly simple.
Here's her worst-case scenario for me: she will try to find something for me. If I get in the system by the time Jon goes for his appointment, I can tag along and try to get my fingerprints done at the same time. You gotta love the "if"s and "try"s of adoption!
