Water Day and Random Grumbling

Water Day is one of the homeschool traditions from Las Cruces that my kids really wanted to see carried with us to El Paso, so we invited everyone to the park near our house for some water fight fun.  I think we'll have another one after the public school kids go back to school and we get the city parks to ourselves again.  It's so much fun for everyone!  The picture is blurry because she is literally squirting my camera with water--naughty child.

Note:  I have no idea how much or if I will blog this month.  We've been busy (family visiting, then LC visit, then friends over, then annual conference, then church responsibilities, then reading camp without a single day in between), and I am tired, being a certified introvert and homebody.  Today marked the beginning of reading camp at our church.  I am a tutor each morning for this month, and Basia is a student.  We are so spoiled in our homeschooling schedule, and I really have no idea how well I will adjust to having to get Basia and I to the church bright and early each morning and being responsible for the education of other people's kids.  I will keep reminding myself what a great program it is, how wonderful it is that my church offers it, and how important it is for people to volunteer, including yours truly.  I think I can.  I think I can.  I think I can.  I may blog four more times today and then take a break, or you may be forced to read my random thoughts each day without ceasing.  Only time will tell.

Reading this makes me laugh because I do realize how ridiculous it sounds when so many mothers work outside the home, full time, and year round.  What can I say--I'm a slacker!  I like my little home and my little kids and my little schedule.

I hear ya. I like my home and kids and schedule too! I love to help out with things (like scout camp this week!), but I spend the whole time wishing I was back home!

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
