Brishen was able to get this close to the Space Shuttle Endeavor as it stopped for a couple hours in El Paso this week on its way to retirement in a museum. We let him skip his live online classes to go with his youth directors to see history in the making. I love that he has a youth director who knows that the classroom is not the only place for learning and invited the youth to skip a morning of school to see this sight. Brishen considers it to be the coolest thing he has seen in his entire life. I am so sad that Basia and I had to miss it. School can be skipped, but Child Protective Services required family visits for foster kids cannot. Oh, how I wish NASA had consulted my schedule!
