Yes, I had a birthday somewhere in that September month, too, although I am fine with skipping them at this point. Who needs yet another 29th birthday, anyway? I do want to acknowledge that I, too, was spoiled on my big day. My parents came down with a cake and gifts. My mom gave me the special gift of memories from her childhood by telling the story of her grandma's handkerchiefs and giving me two of them. I will cherish them and the story! Basia's gift was a little more uncertain. She said (and I quote), "Wait, Mom! I have another gift for you outside." We all looked a little concerned. I was even more concerned when I saw her skimming the pool while she was out there getting my gift. It really was sweet, though, when she brought me this leaf (fresh from the pool) surrounding one of her prize rocks. A gift, Basia style, for sure! Jon brought me yummy Mediterranean food and some Jane Austen movies. I watched Austen movies while folding laundry ALL BY MYSELF in our bedroom. It was lovely! If birthdays are like this, I guess I'll accept another 29th birthday next year!
