Basia woke up early all on her own yesterday morning. She usually has to be pried out of bed, so I was surprised. Not for long, though. She got herself a bowl of cereal, actually ate a few bites, and then fell asleep on the chair for a couple more hours. I was thinking it was going to be one of those days when Basia just can't quite wake up fully until lunch time. She hasn't actually had one in a really long time. By 9:30, though, she was up and awake and happy and ready to tackle the day.
That was good because we were hosting Thanksgiving, Part Uno, at our house for our homeschool co-op. Public school kids get their turkey dinner this time each year, so we did our own Thanksgiving Feast, pot-luck-style, instead of our regularly-scheduled Wednesday co-op. What can I say? I'm a little nuts. I broke out the China we inherited from Jon's aunt for the occasion and the real silver to go with it. I'm not too crazy, though. I wasn't about to iron the table cloths! The food was delicious, and we always enjoy the company of our homeschool buddies!
