It's a good thing that I feel that my place is at home with the little ones (see post below) because I might otherwise feel very jealous of the things Jon and the big kids are doing this weekend! Basia's team won second place in the state robotics competition. 61 teams made it this far in the competition, and her team was number 2. Wow, just wow!
While they were in Houston, they went to the NASA museum. They got to hear an astronaut give a presentation, and Basia went on and on telling me about all she saw and heard. I think this may be her favorite museum ever.
Yes, they got to put their feet in the Gulf of Mexico. They brought swimsuits, but I hear that they didn't bother changing into them. They just climbed in as they were.
Ken and Diana always had great pictures and stories from this park, so they were sure to find it while they were in town. I do notice that Jon didn't send me any pictures that included Basia and an alligator. I think she may have been using the speed God gave her to find safer ground.
And if not getting to watch Basia's team earn a great big trophy, setting foot in an actual ocean, wrastling some gators, and chatting with space flyers were not enough to miss out on during this trip, the family stopped in Austin on their way back toward home. They got to hang out with my sister and her family. Actually my other sister was visiting, too, so I missed seeing both my sisters. It really looks like they have had a great trip. They will get home very late tomorrow night, and I am anxious to have them all back.
