Noche de Luminarias

Attending NMSU's Noche de Luminarias has been a family tradition for a decade or so now.  The first year was absolutely miserably cold, so I'm surprised we ever went back.  It's never been that cold again, and last night was a beautiful one for spending time with friends and seeing the lights.  My favorite part of the night is knowing that some of my little ones have been with us long enough now to remember this tradition from last year.  It does this mom's heart good to know that our family is melding more and more each day and year.

Fun hats are a must for us.  The kids were very excited when I lined up all the fun hats and let them choose the one they wanted.  They each were happy with their pick and did not covet their neighbor's (brother's) hat.  The two littlest were not that cooperative when it came to actually wearing their hats, but we'll give them a pass this year.  I was busy enough wrangling kids in the dark that I didn't get pictures of Timber's family and their fun hats.  Next year!

He said that a guy with such a mowhawk would definitely not smile.

Sue brought great hot cocoa with two choices for marshmallows!  We had our traditional post-luminaria tailgating with cocoa and cookies.  It is my favorite way to start the Christmas season!
