No, that's not the name of another race Brishen did. That is the condition of Edison's mind right now. He is obsessed with his colors! He can recognize:
Red
Yellow
Orange
Green
Blue
Purple
Pink
Brown
I hope you're impressed. Wait, you may not be as impressed when you hear that he doesn't actually remember the name of any of those colors. Nope. He knows the person in our family associated with each of those colors and shouts it out any time he sees the color.
For example, green is "his" color. He shouts out that it's "_____________'s color" any time he sees it. Red is Thing One's color. Yellow is Poky Puppy's color. Orange belongs to Sir Smiles. Zade is all about blue. Cassia claims both purple and pink for her own, but especially purple. Edison gives her credit for both of them. Poor baby boy is left with brown. He only got assigned that color because Edison was eating M&M's at the barber after his haircut. Edison was telling me who owned each color before he ate the M&M. When he found a brown one, he was confused. I said that maybe that could be the baby's color. I said it that one time for that one M&M, and he knew it the very next time he saw brown.
Everywhere we go, he is spotting colors and reminding me who owns it. Can I claim that as him knowing his colors? It won't fly in school too well, I guess, but he can get an A for that in homeschool!
*Note: Brishen first claimed green as his favorite long, long ago, so now he and Edison share it. Edison won't recognize Brishen's senority, however. Basia claims blue along with Zade. I've given her the more teal-y, turquois-y shades when I buy towels or cups even thought she'd probably rather arm wrestle Zade for the primary shade.
