On this day, in history:

1.  I slept later than usual, which is sad because my mom was ready to climb on my bed to have one last morning chat.

2.  It rained.

3.  Jon's groomsmen found their tuxedos did not fit, which is a special problem when you are an hour and a half from town.  Luckily a college friend was there, and he was a fashion guru who worked in a department store for a while and could tailor the tuxes at the last minute.

4.  Brenna Parker did my hair, and it was big.

5.  My bridesmaids wore shoes that were dyed to match their royal blue dresses.  Yes, it was back in those days.

6.  My grandmother and granddad were there.

7.  Cousin Jeremy was promised a "big gun" if he would participate as the ring bearer.  Now that I have kids of my own, I realize just how young Jeremy was.  No wonder he had to be carried up the isle.

8.  People drove in from far away and from all different parts of our lives, including doctors who used to work with Jon's dad.

9.  My mom's garden was gorgeous and the perfect spot for the reception until (see #2).

10.  Cousin Laura hit a deer while carrying all the food for the reception.

11.  My sisters, Jon's sister, and a roommate were my bridesmaids.  I considered my dearest friend from high school to be my honorary matron of honor since she was unable to attend due to military duties.

12.  Jon and I said our "forevers" and we still mean them 18 years later.  We had no idea what life had in store for us!
