At about this time in every case, I change the blog nickname for the future actual name of my child. That's right, Roo's case made some great progress yesterday. All parental rights were terminated, meaning he is legally free for adoption after 90 days. We are the lucky ones who will be adopting him. Our lawyer even mentioned something about CPS possibly waiving the 90 days, allowing us to adopt in late February or March. I'm not holding my breath on that one, but an April adoption sounds quite nice, too.
I am learning how fast time does pass, and three months will be here very soon. In a month or so, we will likely schedule the adoption date. Then the countdown will begin. "Roo" will become our own Asa Moore, and we cannot wait.
Asa has started kissing my shoulder the moment I first get him out of bed in the morning (or, more often, middle of the night). I have noticed that I kiss him a lot, and he is returning the favor more and more every day. He is a big time daddy's boy. He wants to sit with Jon if he's working on his computer. He grabs Jon's legs if he tries to pass through the room without picking him up. He loves when Jon gets home each night. He seems to like his siblings, too. He can't bear to nap if he can hear siblings playing in the other room and will even wander through dark halls to try to wake up a brother or sister. He is the baby of the family and is adored by every single one of us. It will be beautiful to make the relationships legal.
A few more months, and Asa will be ours!
