A lady from church rescues birds. She brought us this assortment of eggs because it reminds her of our family with all the different sizes and colors. I love that!!
This was the night before Cassia's birthday, when they were all three five. It always seems strange to have three the same age since the maturity levels are quite different. Now that Cassia and Soren are six and Zade and Tobias are five, it seems much more "normal." It's so funny that siblings less than two years apart seemed so close in age, but now this seems normal. I even sometimes feel bad that Asa is all alone, 21 months younger than Edison. They are SO far apart in age :).
I am not a big flowers kind of gal, but I adore these tulips that my husband got me for Valentine's Day. Even I adore a little complete beauty once every few years!
Cassia's desk drawer cracks me up with the folded long princess gloves right next to her binoculars and markers. This is sooooooo her!
Potty training is tiring work!
It has been warm enough to necessitate that I really think through the kids' summer wardrobes to see what we need. Before I figured out how we were doing in the shoe department, I measured everyone's shoe size. I hate when I do that! Only Tobias can wear his same shoes! Asa has huge feet compared to his tiny size. After measuring everyone, we searched out every shoe from every room and closet and stray hiding place. This picture is the shoe collection as it was, even the in between sizes. I threw out several old and ugly pairs and packed up a big box to donate. Some of the kids are still set for a while and others have nothing that fits. Other shoes are still in between sizes.
It was a regular Monday morning, and we had no plans. I was a bit surprised when Edison emerged from his room in the morning wearing this, thanks to Cassia. He work this outfit all day, drinking his morning juice and digging in the dirt after lunch. My kids are something else!
We have such a weird family, with so many kids so close in age. There are so many times that I see my kids playing or talking or laughing or giggling late at night or just sitting together and know without a doubt how very lucky they are to have each other. What a crazy, amazing way to grow up. They were watching a documentary on TV, and this is how close they were sitting! Now I laugh to remember that the show they were watching was about different species of animals that became best friends. These kids have different beginnings and different strengths and different personalities, but there is no shortage of friends around here.
