Simply Today 7/29

Happy Birthday, (niece) Alyssa!!

We started the day with some news and then watching a couple YouTube videos on how to propagate houseplants.  We don't have any pots, soil, or root stimulator, so we stuck with the water method.  Cassia and I then looked up our various houseplants, found some nodes, filled jars and vases with water, and now we will see what happens.  I hope we eventually see some roots, but if we do, I might get hooked!

Miss Lisa is like an Albuquerque granny to my kids.  She went to Chicago to visit her mom and family and brought back all sorts of goodies for the kids and the rest of us.

Basia did some evening harvesting.

This is a full size cabbage head.  We are shocked and amazed that we somehow pulled this off.  We were very confused by the cabbage plant for months.  It grew huge outer leaves but never gave a sign of a cabbage head.  We were at a point that we thought maybe we were just supposed to eat the big leaves and even debated whether it was really cabbage at all.  I'm glad we took a wait and see approach.  We were very much rewarded!

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
