Valentine's Tea Party

Today has been a typical, busy Sunday. Brishen played bell choir at University UMC for both services this morning, so Basia and I also spent the morning with him there. Brishen and Jon are now back at our church for children's choir and praise band practice. Basia's napping, and I am avoiding the housework that needs done to get my house back in shape for the week ahead.

I didn't get any pictures today, so I thought I'd share some from last month. These are from the Valentine's Day Tea Party the kids planned for their in-town family. They planned the entire menu, made the invitations, made the grocery list, and did all the cooking and decorating themselves. They have not quite figured out that it is best to plan some salty and healthy snacks to go along with the sweet stuff, but that's OK.

In the above picture, Brishen is working on his cupcake fireworks. He chose them because of the red designs on top.
Basia is cutting out the heart sugar cookies. She is already a pro at cracking eggs, and truly does a better job than I do!

They each chose 3 items for the party. The firecracker and mouse are Brishen's, and the lizard and graham cracker are Basia's. The raspberry smoothie and the heart cookies aren't pictured.

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
