When I Grow Up

Basia asked me what I want to be when I grow up. I was a bit surprised that she doesn't consider me grown up yet, but I DO have things I want to do/be someday so I told her a bit about them. She replied that I should be a ballerina or princess. These are nowhere on her long list of things that she wants to be when she grows up, so I was a bit taken aback. I asked why she thought I should be a ballerina or princess, and she told me that if I were a ballerina or princess I could be prettier. Gee, thanks!

Here's the list of things she wants to be when she grow up. Have I already shared this? Oh, well, you'll have to hear it again if I have. Firefighter, worker man, archaeologist (to dig for dinosaur bones), pig hitter (show pigs at the fair), drummer in a praise band, baseball player, professional skateboarder.

Brishen still wants to be an Egyptologist.

I DO NOT want to be a princess or ballerina.

Melani,
I think you are prettier than any old silly ballerina or princess...
and a lot TOUGHER, too.
Love,
Jon

Brishen's Birthday, Too

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
