Snow Day Number 1

Yes, I was a nice mom and let my kids have a snow day even though our school was right here in our warm house.   I have no pictures to show you of the kids playing in the snow.  Why?  Because my kids are desert wimps!  Basia went out for a few minutes and really thought that she was going to lose her fingers.  She had to take a 2 hour bath to recover.  Brishen didn't even attempt it.

Here's what we did:

watched too much TV
made brownies and ate too many
dirtied lots of mugs for hot coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate
played board games
listened to music
read
played
forgot to shower or get dressed
let the dogs out 342 times for a full 13 seconds each time
ate hot, fresh soup

Now, here's the sad part:  tomorrow is likely to be another snow day.  There is no reason for us to call off school, but Jon will likely be home again so we may.  The only problem is that I don't know if I can handle another day of such family laziness.  I feel like a bad mom for having the TV on too much, for allowing too many brownies, and for not DOING anything.  I'm not sure when I stopped being able to enjoy more than one day of doing nothing.  That's pretty sad!

If I had yarn, I would teach myself to knit.  I may have three oranges left that I could use to brush up on my juggling skills.  Or maybe I should declare the day "Jane Austen fan day" and watch all the versions of all her movies that I have or can find on Netflix.  That would be accomplishing something.  My family probably wouldn't even mind because it would mean that I would leave them alone to do nothing.  Without a doubt, I will be showering and wearing a bra, which is more than I can say for myself today.

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
