Sunday Without Shoes

I didn't wear shoes to church today.

Even the senior pastor didn't wear shoes to church today.

Our church celebrated our own version of One Day Without Shoes with a "Sunday (and Saturday Worship, too) Without Shoes."  Our version contained three parts:  1.  Go to church without wearing shoes  2.  Bring shoes to donate to a local charity  3.  Donate money to Tom's Shoes for a shoe drop

The line of donated shoes surrounded the building.
 And just kept going.
 548 pairs in all.
Wow!

Oh, and this is what 548 pairs of shoes look like in the back of my van.  Yikes!  Basia has to be on guard for falling shoes as we drive.  There's a small cocoon where she almost fits.  Tomorrow we will be bringing them to those who need them a lot more than we do.

Tuesday is the official One Day Without Shoes day.  The Moore 3 (#4 is in DC) will spend the whole day without wearing shoes.  Care to join us?  If you have fears of tripping over your own big toe when not in shoes (sound familiar, Mom?), I invite you to at least read about the event and become aware of why the need for shoes is such a big deal.

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
