Valentine's Day

No sirree, Valentine's Day isn't old news on March 11!

Valentine's Day really, really sneaks up on you when you've been in the hospital with a baby and are still reeling with the after effects of it all.

Adorable handmade cards made for my children to take to school by Dany the Nanny warm my heart.  I was proud of what we sent that day, and I did absolutely none of the work.  I'm a lucky mom!

Valentine's Day is not the same as it was back in my day!  We used to get lots of dumb little cards with a signature.  I remember trying to decode the Valentine's meaning to decide who loved me and who did not, right Robin?  Now, candy is a must.  Big candy is a must!  My four kids came home from preschool with insane amounts of candy.  One got a big ole' candy heart full of those caramel-filled delicacies that the mom of the house enjoys.  She's 4 (actually she was still 3 on Valentine's)!  Luckily she's not a fan of chocolate, so I got to enjoy them for her.

This year we were certainly spoiled by Grandmother on Valentine's Day:
