With a Tail

I'm pretending these posts are all things that are happening right now and that I am not behind in blogging.  This one, though, makes me happy to report that it is in the past.  This guy was in the hospital for several days and left with this tail that was a constant companion of ours for a couple weeks.  It was hooked to a pulse oximeter which had me watching his oxygen 24-hours a day.  It beeped constantly!  If he was active at all, it would beep in error.  He's a busy baby!  He also had a giant oxygen tank, a couple portable oxygen tanks, and a sleep apnea monitor.  We are so happy that they were false alarms, but we were still sick of hearing apnea monitor alarms in the night.  It was a happy day when the doctor cleared him from needing that tail and all the other loudly beeping equipment!!  It's nice to not spend every moment of my day worrying about whether an alarm is false, if I should re-tape something, if I should start the oxygen because his levels are staying exactly at the lowest allowed percentage before needing oxygen, if I can get up and get a bottle without tripping over a cord that activates a piercing alarm scream, etc.  It's nice to just have a regular baby again!
