Happy Birthday
Happy birthday to that baby brother of mine.  He's catching up to me quickly now.  I remember well the day he was born.  I remember my parents waking me in the night to tell me they were heading to the hospital and that my grandpa was on his way over to watch the rest of us.  I was told to let the others sleep.  I woke them up right away.  I remember my grandma getting out a ruler the next morning to show us about how long he was when he was born.  I remember getting to take a Polaroid picture of me and my new baby brother to 3rd grade to show my very pregnant teacher.  He was my living baby doll, and I loved every single bit of having a baby brother 9 years younger than me.  Happy birthday, Ken(n)!  Much love from the Moore Home!

That Place
Jon has been on mandatory 2-week quarantine after going out of state to visit his mom.  Today is his first day back at church.  As he prepared to go, Edison was confused.

"You're going to church?  I thought you were done with that place."

How We Do Church
Many churches are still closed or doing virtual services.  Our church has a huge sanctuary and not a huge congregation so it has been easier for it to open during these Covid days of many necessary restrictions.  There is no congregational singing or speaking.  Seating is spread out and marked with every other row closed.  There is no greeting time or place before or after services.  Masks are mandatory.

We go a step further in our family because I have too many little ones to watch, and they are used to running off to hug this or that church member.  My kids love being loved, and they have always been loved well at church.  Instead of sitting in the main part of the sanctuary with everyone else, we decided it was safest for us and others if we enter the rear doors and head straight up to one of the balconies.  We are not near other parishioners, and they won't be accosted (in this Covid positive world) by the hugs or touching-everything-hands of my children.  It has worked well for us and is really the only reason I feel comfortable taking the crew to church.

Oh, we also take temperatures at home virtually every day and definitely on Sunday.

They Keep Falling Out
The third tooth of the week fell from a child's mouth:  Asa and Zade and Cassia, oh, my.  I've never been big on insisting on the tooth fairy and other magical creatures, but Zade still believes in it all with his whole heart.  Asa has never believed a drop of it.  I no longer confirm or deny anything fully after telling them all the truth long ago.  They didn't believe me so now it's up to the individual kids to believe or not.  Most are iffy.  Zade is not iffy.  Asa is not iffy.  A dollar arrives either way.

He gelled his own hair for church.

Through my bedroom window

We ground up some of our garden basil that we dried.  It takes a lot of basil to fill a spice jar!

We were in Sacramento on Brishen's birthday, but we made it home to celebrate the next day.  He wanted green chile potato corn chowder...
